_______________________________________________

In response to issues of systemic racism, transphobia, ableism, and many other forms of oppression in the Fine Arts milieu, we have recently adapted our policy so that applications marked for employment equity will be considered earlier in the selection process.

We would also like to invite applicants who have already submitted their applications but who may not have been aware of these policies to mark their submissions as employment equity applications by sending an email tfarrconcordia.hiring@gmail.com and writing « I would like to mark my application for employment equity ».

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO MARK YOUR APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT EQUITY YOU MUST DO SO BY APRIL 25TH, 2017 AT 11:59PM.

Any person who self-identifies as being marginalized or disadvantaged within the Fine Arts community is welcome, but not obligated, to mark their application for employment equity.

Please note that when considering applications the hiring committee:

  • Does NOT make assumptions about whether an applicant belongs to a marginalized community based on their name, appearance, or age. The committee ONLY considers the information explicitly provided to them in the candidate’s application and interview.
  • Does NOT ask applicants to disclose why they have marked their application for employment equity.
  • Does NOT make hires solely with the intent of diversifying the demographics of the staff collective.

These guidelines have been created to ensure that those applying under employment equity are not subject to tokenization.

If you have any questions or concerns about our policies, please do not hesitate to contact us at farrconcordia.hiring@gmail.com.
